1. General Terms

1.1 By renting a vehicle from About on Road Ltd ("Company"), the Renter ("You" or "Renter") agrees to comply with the following terms and conditions.

1.2 These terms and conditions are binding for the duration of the rental period and are subject to change without prior notice.

1.3 Any violation of these terms may result in additional charges, immediate termination of the rental agreement, and legal action.

2. Rental Requirements

2.1 Age Requirements: Renter must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver's licence.

2.2 Driver's Licence: The Renter must provide a valid driver’s licence, held for a minimum of 2 years.

2.3 Payment: A valid debit card is required for deposit and rental charges. Cash payments are accepted only at the discretion of the Company.

2.4 Deposit: A security deposit of up to £250 will be required at the start of the rental period. The deposit will be refunded upon the vehicle's return in satisfactory condition, minus any applicable fees (e.g., damage or cleaning fees).

3. Rental Period and Vehicle Use

3.1 Rental Duration: The rental period begins at the time the vehicle is collected and ends when the vehicle is returned to About on Road Ltd. Late returns may incur additional charges.

3.2 Mileage Limit: The rental includes 200 miles per day. Additional mileage will be charged at £0.30 per mile.

3.3 Permitted Use: The Renter agrees to use the vehicle only for lawful purposes. The vehicle may not be used for: Racing or illegal activities. Transporting hazardous or illegal materials. Carrying passengers for hire (e.g., ridesharing). Towing other vehicles without prior written consent.

3.4 Vehicle Condition: The vehicle must be returned in the same condition it was in at the start of the rental period, excluding normal wear and tear. Any damage, missing items, or excessive dirt may result in additional charges.

4. Insurance and Liability

4.1 Insurance Coverage: Basic insurance is included in the rental price. The Renter may purchase additional coverage at the time of rental.

4.2 Accidents and Damage: In the event of an accident, the Renter must immediately notify About on Road Ltd and the local authorities. The Renter is responsible for any damage to the vehicle not covered by insurance.

4.3 Liability: The Company is not liable for any personal injuries, loss, or damage to personal property sustained during the rental period. The Renter assumes full responsibility for the vehicle while it is in their possession.

5. Fuel Policy

5.1 Fuel Level: The vehicle will be provided with a half tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount. If the vehicle is not returned full, a refuelling charge of £2 per litre will apply.

5.2 Fuel Type: The Renter is responsible for using the correct fuel type as indicated by the manufacturer. Any damage caused by using incorrect fuel will be charged to the Renter.

6. Roadside Assistance

6.1 Breakdowns: In the event of a mechanical breakdown, About on Road Ltd will provide roadside assistance.

6.2 Flat Tires, Lost Keys, Lockouts: Charges may apply for services such as replacing a flat tire, lost keys, or unlocking the vehicle

6.3 Towing: Towing due to mechanical failure will be covered by the Company. Towing resulting from improper use of the vehicle will be charged to the Renter.

7. Cancellation and Refunds

7.1 Cancellation Policy: Cancellations made 48 hours prior to the rental period will receive a full refund. Cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance will be subject to a cancellation fee equal to 2 days rental charges.

7.2 Early Return: No refunds will be given for early returns unless otherwise agreed in writing

8. Penalties and Additional Charges

8.1 Late Returns: A fee of £10 per hour will apply for late returns, with a maximum daily charge of 1 day of rental charge.

8.2 Traffic Violations: The Renter is responsible for any traffic tickets, parking violations, or fines incurred during the rental period.

8.3 Smoking/Animals: Smoking in the vehicle and transportation of animals (unless authorised) are prohibited. A cleaning fee of £25 will apply if this rule is violated.

8.4 Unauthorised Drivers: Only the Renter and authorised drivers listed in the rental agreement are permitted to drive the vehicle. Violation of this rule may result in immediate termination of the agreement and additional charges.

9. Termination of Agreement

9.1 Termination by Company: About on Road Ltd reserves the right to terminate the rental agreement at any time if the Renter breaches any terms of this contract or is deemed unfit to continue renting the vehicle

9.2 Immediate Return: In the event of termination, the Renter must return the vehicle immediately to the location specified by About on Road Ltd.

10. Governing Law

10.1 This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, and any disputes arising under or in connection with this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the United Kingdom.
